MADDY'S BACK!

It’s FrEaKy FrIdaY!!!!!!! Yaaaas I know, it doesn’t seem like it’s been 7 days, but believe me you, it most definitely has been. It’s been a long week, full of feels.

Aka, the bestie Jay and I have been house hunting.
Oh, no, of course not for real. It’s uh… for science. Yeah, that’s exactly that it is.

Today, we looked for houses in San Francisco. Mostly because San Fran is beautiful. Also because we can see ourselves raising a family in San Fran, and by family, I mean pugs, of course.

Anyway, we found so many effing houses. Why aren’t we rich, by the way? It’s just NO FAIR.
So, as soon as we make a living as film makers and whatnot, all of our dreams will come true! Well, the San Francisco ones, at least.

I was going to make cupcakes today, too. But we didn’t have any instant pudding. Which sucks. Like, super really double sucks, because that’s what I was going to do for this week’s Freaky Friday. I’ll take pictures tho, when I do I’ll take pictures so we can bake next week.
Believe me, you should be excited.

Soooooo, now I’m in an awkward position because I have nothing else to talk about.

OoOooOoOoOoOh I know. We can talk about how I really, really, wanna dye my hair again. But I really shouldn’t. It’s finally getting better, and ECCC is in like, 2 months. I have to have brown hair for all of my costumes. But tbh, after that, all bets are off. I’ll probably dye it pink. oR BLUE. Idk yet. I might just go rainbow because I’m seriously THAT indecisive.

I also got basically all of the pieces of my costumes, but I’m still looking for boots because gOD KNOWS HOW BIG MY EFFING FEET ARE. I thought the hardest part would be the pants, or the props, but no. The freaking. Boots. Fml, you know? But I’m sure we’ll find them somewhere, even if I have to hit every thrift store within a 100 mile radius (is that even far I don’t know distance lol oops).

Also we’re going to get my ID this Monday so I can get my GED and get on with everything.

This has very quickly become me just whining about my life, but seriously, I promise, next week there will be some gr8 content.

So with that, I guess I’m signing off. What even is my sign off? Should I come up with one?
Is it “XOXO, MaddyLion”
I think it is, so:

XOXO, MaddyLion
(and I think I called you all “saucy little minxes”. I’m so sorry)

How to Think Like a Man

Okay, I know this is going to sound incredibly sexist, but that's not my intention. It's my intention to make you realize that everyone can think of things like stereotypical males.

First, lets talk about body image.

Yes, I know there are males out there with body image issues, but here we are talking about stereotypes, so...body issues are almost non-existent.

Let me explain.

Typically, men either don't have body issues or they have healthy ones. This is why, in media, a fat man can have a girlfriend or wife who is fit. It's like it's allowed somehow - and you know why - BECAUSE AS A WHOLE, MEN DON'T CARE. You don't see half as many articles aimed at men on "How to Quickly Shed 15 Pounds by Friday!" You don't. And don't try to argue with me about some bullcrap you think is right - YOU DON'T. Case closed.

That's because you generally don't hear mothers of young boys say things like "Don't eat that - you don't want to be fat. No woman will ever love you." You don't hear it. It's because it's not common - it's not taught. It's not a societal norm.

Two. Another thing that is stereotypically applied to men in our society is the ability to not cry. Now, I myself know that men cry, but generally not crying is considered a male trait. Boys are told "don't cry like a girl", they are. Again, don't try to bombard me with the "but it's okay for a boy to cry" because it's JUST NOT POPULAR OPINION.

So men suck it up on the outside and are thought to be heartier and more trustworthy in panic situations. They also earn more pay and that is probably because they are thought to be sturdier and more of an asset of a company.

So, let's see what we have so far.

To think like a man, I need to have a more positive self image and learn to be more in control of my feelings. Okay. Good so far.

I think the last thing I want to talk about here is thinking. Another giant stereotype in the male persona is that men just don't think things through. They don't over think. They DO. They act on impulse. It somehow makes the things they do end up looking more heroic. So, that's actually kind of a nice thing - they don't dwell, they live in the now.

Recap: The three things I have discovered that are the way to think like a man are - healthy self image, self control and not overthinking. All in all, not bad things.

So, starting today, I will be doing more of this type of "male" thinking. I want to prove that women are every bit as good as men. No, wait. I am wrong.

I want to prove that EVERYONE IS AS GOOD AS ANYONE ELSE. That's all we ever want.

So, if you are a man, think like a man. If you are a woman, think like a man. OOO! Let's say it this way:

If you are a (hu)man, Think like a (hu)man.

Yeah, I like that. I should probably retitle this post, but I won't. Now - GO FORTH AND BE!

Bonus art from a good friend: (please enjoy!)

Today I am Happy Because...

Here's the thing.

I'm happy because today I woke up.

Sounds weird, right?

Not so much, really. Not when one day, out of the blue, you hear from a voice form the past that one of your friends has died.

Ah, yes. Realization of Mortality. Sucks, no?

But it's there. We're all mortal. We just are - human condition. That's the way it has always been, the way it is now, and the way it will always be.

But I need to ask your a favor.

If you are reading this then I love you. You are my family. Now, you might be saying that I don't know you - that I have never seen your face. Or that it's been a long time since we talked. Or that I only know you over the internet so how could I love you?

Well, that's simple. Unless you have done something to severely piss me off, then I love you. And, really, it's pretty hard to piss me off. And I will be covering that topic on another, later blog. (It's a thought process that doesn't make me happy, so I won't include it here.)

Anyway, yeah. Let's get back to that favor.

Since I love you (and I do), I need you to make me a promise. It's that easy. One simple promise.

If you EVER need my help - no matter if you think I can help you or not, you need to let me know. If I can't help you, I will do all I humanly can (and sometimes, through some cosmic luck, even above that!) to get you that help.

That's all. reach out.

Oh, and as an add on, KEEP IN TOUCH. I know people are reading, I see the numbers. Say Hi. I love when people say Hi. For those of you who are already friends with me - those of you who have known me for far too long - you know how I like to take care of my friends.

That's about all I have to say now. But please reach out to other people. Let them know what is going on. Because it's hell on someone when suddenly they hear something has happened to you.

I LOVE YOU ALL!
Be well. Be safe. Feel loved.

Steve Carlson

Steven Paul Carlson
born August 6, 1975

What can I tell you about that amazing man up there? Well, let's start with the fact that he can really sing. And play guitar. And write songs. And he's real easy on the eyes. He's also one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Let's watch one of his vids, shall we?

Good, right? Of course it is. And as good as that song is, he can also make fun of himself!

Well, hell, it won't let me post the video directly, but here is the linky link link. And also enjoy this picture.

Another great thing about Steve is that he's one fifth of the band Kane - and one of the main songwriters for them.

I spent a bug chunk of a year traveling to Portland to see them play in bars and they totally rocked my socks off. We even went to a concert that was outside where it rained, but that didn't matter one bit. I tired to post a picture from that, but the pictures are all sideways...hmmm...

This is us thoroughly dampened, but our spirits were still quite high...

As if you need another reason to love the man, HE COOKS!

So, this man - he plays MANY instruments well, sings, writes songs, cooks and is one hell of a looker. What is not to love? And if you want to catch him, you can catch a StageIt show - link to upcoming shows here.

Let me see - what else can I say about him that I haven't? Wow, tons - but we don't have that kind of time or space. So check him out yourself. He has a YouTube channel. And his own website. Listen to his music. BUY his music. It's so worth it.

In conclusion:

Hope you enjoyed that. But, really, go check him out. And, while you are cruising around the net, if you haven't already - put in your entry for Sweepstakes Saturday. Still 5 days left.

And I have to give credit to Gretchen Nathe at Photography by Gretchen for a couple of the pics up there - they have her watermark.

Lazy Sunday (Q&A)

As I write to you now, I am wearing my favorite PJ pants (they have tiny penguins on them that I keep trying to brush off thinking they are paper) and my favorite hoodie EVER. So, you can tell that it's a lazy day here.

I got questions though! So here we go...

1 - HOW MANY STATES HAVE YOU LIVED IN, AND HOW ARE THEY SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT?
Let's see. only counting states I lived in, not ones I stayed in and didn't have a permanent place...I was born in Washington and lived there four years. Then we moved to Georgia. And I lived there until 1999, at which point I moved back to Washington, then back to Georgia. And then back to Washington and then to Texas. And then BACK to Washington. And now, we are planning to move this summer to Oregon. I think the biggest shock is that the south is so very different culture-wise than any other place. And it even differs in Texas and Georgia. People are, if you can believe it, honestly more open and laid back in the Southern states. Refreshingly, they often don't have the "PC" hangups that Pacific Northwesterners tend to have. But people here in the the PNW often seem nice because they are so guarded. I think that's the biggest difference. Oh! And food prices - waaaaay cheaper in the South.

2 - WOULD YOU RATHER DIE BY BEING IMPALED MULTIPLE TIMES BY A HORDE OF MINIATURE UNICORNS OR BE PARALYZED AND SLOWLY DROWNING IN JELLO? (This question is not for future reference at all, nope)
Okay, first off, that last bit kinda scares me, not gonna lie. Second, the jello one. Because, hopefully, before I was too much engulfed in gelatin goodness, my friends would notice and save me. If they weren't quick enough, I pray that the Jello is at least a good flavor - peach would be nice, but orange would also do.

3 - WHAT GREAT, OR AT LEAST GOOD, MOVIES SHOULD BE ON MY MUST SEE LIST? (Please, nothing scary - thanks!)
This is a hard one. Mainly because I love a lot of movies. But, I have narrowed it down enough to give you a starter list. Let's see - Goodfellas, Top Gun, Labyrinth, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Easy A, Mean Girls, Girl Most Likely, Friends With Kids, Bridesmaids, Across the Universe, Pillow Talk... I really could go on and on. (And if people have suggestions, please add them in the comments - I am *always* looking for a good movie to watch!)

4 - HOW TALL ARE YOUR EARS?
They are 2 inches, thank you for asking.

5 - WHAT BEVERAGE WOULD YOU PERSONALLY DRINK WITH CAVIAR?
Probably something super-classy like Mountain Dew spiked with Jack. I can't imagine eating caviar sober.

And that has been this week's Lazy Sunday. Thank you so much for reading and keep the questions coming in!

Also, don't forget to go over to Sweepstakes Saturday and put in your entry!

Until tomorrow...

Friday, January 17, 2014

Hey howdy hey, nice to meet you my name is Maddy, but you might know me as Sue’s daughter, so yES I AM HERE okay first thing is first. Let’s get to know me. I’M THE COOLEST CAT AROUND, AND I HAVE A DEEP INTEREST IN FALL OUT BOY AND PANIC! AT THE DISCO. Well, now that THAT’S out of the way, let me explain you a thing. This is Freaky Friday – YES – Freaky Friday. AKA the day that I get to kidnap my mom’s average blog and make it amazing even if for one day a week J (yeah I used an emoticon, and you may as well get used to it, I use ‘em a lot).

SO TODAY’S TOPIC IS SOMETHING MOST OF US CAN RELATE TO – and if you can’t, you’re probably really good at pretending like you do – so, here goes! DRUM ROLL PLEEEEASEEE!!!!!

((SELF LOVE))

Yeah, I know so many people have talked about it but do I look like I care (if you said yes LoOk aGaIn)? Exactly, I don’t give a flying f – what? Oh, well mom just told me to “watch my language”. Edit: Exactly, I don’t give a single mONKeY BUTT about how many times people have talked about self acceptance and tbqh, how many times have you seen it from a 17 year-old girl’s perspective? EXACTLY. Let’s just jump right on in then, shall we?! (weeee shallll)

Let’s start with a little bit of back story.
I’ve been “big boned” ever since I moved in with my grandma. Grandmas are a great thing, because they know how to make you feel better, but the part that you don’t realize is that most of the therapy provided is through food! I’ve been dealing with not being like the other kids for a REALLY long time, so being different isn’t new for me at all.

With that being said, it’s really hard to like yourself when everyone else is so much different from you, but that’s exactly it! EVERYONE IS SO MUCH DIFFERENT FROM YOU. Do you see where I’m going with this? nO ONE IS PERFECT, OR EXACTLY THE SAME WE’RE ALL BEAUTIFUL SNOWFLAKES.

BUT to contradict everything I just said, how awful is it to be different, if you can’t embrace it? Really awful, if you hadn’t guessed. It’s really hard to make friends and it’s really hard to love life if you can’t like yourself. Believe me, I’ve been there. THE MEDIA and YOUR PEERS and E V E R Y O N E around you are all but calling you ugly.

The important thing to remember here is that there is someone out there going through the same things you are, and that things will get better, and you will meet people who will seem like they were born just to know you. Someone knows exactly how you feel, and if you don’t stick it out, you’ll never meet them, and get to be friends with them, etc.

And friends are a wonderful thing! My friends are literally the best people I know (I mean, they kinda have to be by law to be friends with me). I wouldn’t even know half of them if it weren’t for things that I’ve learned to embrace.

The real moral of today’s story is simply: Love yourself! Don’t take yourself for granted. If things get rough, take yourself out to dinner, give yourself a pamper night, watch a movie or read a book! If you don’t have any friends, get to know yourself! It makes being the real you so much easier.

So whether you think you’re too fat, too skinny, too dumb, too smart, too popular, too lame, a pushy bitch, someone who let’s people walk all over them, whATEVER your personal “flaw” may be, get over it. I know it’s hard, I really do. It takes time. Sometimes I wake up and I hate myself. If you made me record my actions and my appearance for a whole day, I could point out every single thing that’s “wrong with me.”

At the end of the day, just know that someone, somewhere thinks you’re rad, but to see it, first you have to find yourself rad.

In the true words of my Idol, Ru Paul; “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hELL you gonna love somebody else, can I get an amen?” Yes Ru, you CAN get an amen.

And with that, I’ll see u saucy little minxes next week.

XOXO, MaddyLion

Learn to Trust Writers

So, I don't know how many of you out there are in fandoms, but I am.

I am in a few - including one I have been fighting being in for some time. And this holds a certain level of responsibility. One that sometimes even I don't get. But this is one thing that I will cling to until my dying breath - YOU MUST TRUST THE WRITER TO DO THE RIGHT THING BY THE CHARACTERS.

Yes, I get it. I get that it can be VERY frustrating when you fall in love with a character and you start to think that you know them as well as family, sometimes even as well as you know yourself. But, thing is, you don't. Much like actual people, characters can respond in an unpredictable way.

This can be for many reasons - change of heart, curse, poison, different writer - the list really does go on and on in this case. But, the fact still remains that the show has what is called a Show Bible and, in many case, the creator demands that writing staff stick to it.

Which is why, if the character isn't acting in a usual manner, there is a reason. And it might not be clear to you at the very instant it happens - this is what is known as setting up a story line. It might even include foreshadowing. Point is, just because YOU don't know what is happening to the character, you can trust deep down that the writer does.

Now, next part of this is - just because you consider it canon, doesn't mean it is.

You can sit and scream all day about character a being in love with character b and you are sure you can back this up because you have a few pictures you snapped of the screen at the right time, but if the writers don't say it's true, it's not.

Now. I will say right now that I root for a few character couples that writer's don't approve, but I realize that if it doesn't happen, it's not the end of the world. It's fun to joke that character a is in such hard love with character b that they can't see it and stuff, but at the end of the day, NO HATE.

What gets me is the amount of people calling themselves fans who constantly whine and cry about this very thing. And they never seem to be happy. I suppose it comes from some people not understanding how hard it is to create characters and then keep them true to themselves for a long time. I mean, if you don't do the thing, how can you understand that thing?

But I digress from my original plea.

PLEASE LEARN TO TRUST WRITERS.

Because, honestly, you screw around with them too much, make them unhappy, they can end your favorite character's life. That simple. Don't say you haven't been warned.

Cherish your favorite characters lives and learn to trust their creators.

This has been my Thinky-Thought.

Today I am Happy Because...

Raisels.

Raisels make me Happy.

They are like tiny nutritious sour patch kids without the creepy faces. They are all sour and all yummy and if you suck all the sour off, then you get yummy golden raisin underneath. What’s not to love?

Well.

There is one little thing:

YOU CANNOT BUY THEM IN STORES.

I am devastated and, yet, happy.

Happy because my mother works at a school in the lunchroom so she will sometimes bring me a box. Happy because I have minions children who bring them to me in their backpacks, sometimes conning them off other kids even!

So, the happy thought for today is Raisels.

And once they get themselves in gear and get them back on shelves, I will be happier. Until then, I am going to keep searching for a way to contact them about my efforts to stockpile.

Oh – yes, there is a website on the box, BUT IT’S NOT ACTIVE.

Still happy though.

*shakes sour watermelon box of Raisels*

So Happy.

How to Make Your Own Chalkboards!

First, let me apologize for being late on this, but the weather refused to cooperate with me. We had massive winds. Otherwise, I would have been showing you how I made the stencil and tee from the other day. But, have no fear, that is on the rotation.

Okay so, that up there is the chalkboard that I made this summer and apparently didn't get very good documentation of how I did it, though I thought I did.

Here is the only picture I seem to have gotten so, the pics of the supplies you will need will all be stock photos, sorry.

Okay, supply list:

First, you'll need Chalkboard Paint. I know that Martha Stewart has a whole blog about how to make your own and shizz, but who has time for that when you can buy it in a can like this? Not me and not for my first project with it. Oh! Don't forget to get a stir stick of some kind with it because it will need a good stir. Behold, the brand I used:

Next, you will need one (or more) of these bad boys. I say one, because that is the least you can have. I had about three, which was great because if you let the paint dry on it even a little, they get too stiff to actually use. And then you might say words that you don't want your neighbors to hear you say. So get a bunch. It's worth it.

Okay, this is possibly the easiest thing to find. As you can see in the one picture I have up there that isn't stock, I found a bunch. I hunt thrift stores for cheap ones - like I won't pay over 50 cents for a frame or I feel like I am being robbed. But you can get ones you have that you don't want any more and use those too. Get a few. You are more than likely going to be like me and once you get going, not want to stop.

Next up, spray paint. I buy a white one to use as a base as well as a good selection of colors. I wait until they go on  sale at the local hardware store and buy the ones I think are pretty. So I like to think I have a good stock of them. This time, I had hot pink and yellow and a blue color. And red. Like a fire engine.

Also, you probably are going to want newspaper to set down so you don't get this craft everywhere. WARNING: Chalkboard paint DOES NOT wash off of clothes. So you might want to wear an apron as well. Protect areas you are working on and around is what I am trying to say.

All right. Let's say you have all this stuff done. You have the area well protected and the supplies you are going to need. First up, you will need to take the back off the frame. And the little cardboard bit that makes the picture stay all snug in there? Take that out too. And last, CAREFULLY slide the lass bit out. Otherwise, you are going to break it and, while I have a quick fix for that, it's a pain in the hind end to clean up broken glass. So, just be careful.

Next step is to take both the frame and the glass and spray them with the white paint. This gives you a good base for the other stuff to hold onto. I believe in a good base coat. It helps you not curse later too.

After that has dried - and you HAVE to let it dry - then you can open up your Chalkboard paint and stir the hell out of it. I cannot stress this enough - that needs to be MIXED. Otherwise, you will have a hard time getting it to stick to the glass, even with the incredible base coat you have so patiently waited for to dry.

I chose to do a bunch of frames and glass at once so that I could have more than one to work on because, let's face it, waiting for paint to dry is REALLY boring. So, while I was waiting and making sure that the glass was SUPER dry, I went on to spray the frames with the finial color I wanted. This proved to be a task because I had kids playing with dirt in the yard. As a result, some got really cool texturizing I had not anticipated. Once those were drying though, I went on to the glass.

Here is the thing I learned about chalkboard paint on glass. You should put the paint THICK on the foam brush and make the first coat going up and down. All of it - don't just paint random. You WILL regret it. Second coat - and there has to be one - go the opposite way. If you end up needing a third coat - some of mine did - go the first way again.

They should look like this front and back once dry:

Once you have done all of those and both the frames and the glass is dry, then you are ready to put it all together. I did take mine apart to show you how to do that, so marvel at how simple this bit is:

You take the frame...and flip that bad boy over.

Slide in the glass CAREFULLY. Now it's not just about breaking the glass, but you can't scratch the paint either or you will have to start over, which I can tell you is a pain in the rear end.

Then you slide in the cardboard bit to snug that sucker up. You don't want the glass ratting and breaking and ruining all this hard work!

Then you slide the back on. If it's not tight enough, find other bits of cardboard to make it snug. This makes for a better writing surface.

See? So simple even *I* can do it!

So there you have it. You made a chalkboard. I also painted a used canvas I found in a free bin - it had a tiny rip in it that I fixed with a little duct tape on the opposite side and you can't even really tell...

And I re-purposed an old chalkboard/whiteboard combo that had been left out in the weather - making this a double sided chalkboard so the kids wouldn't fight over the one good side anymore!

Here you can see some bits of the chalkboards drying as I worked on bigger projects with the chalkboard paint. I really got creative. I was almost literally painting everything that didn't move to see if it would take chalkboard paint. This included my nails. And, while it looked cool, there was really no reason as I couldn't even draw one good sized readable letter on them.

HAPPY CRAFTING!

I'd love to see what you guys make if you decide to do chalkboards, by the way.

Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars.

Actually born Peter Gene Hernandez on October 8, 1985.

Has www.BrunoMars.com - Twitter is @brunomars - +Bruno Mars

But none of that is important to me. What *is* important to me is that this man cna SING. Holy Jeebus can he belt it out!

Doo-Wops & Hooligans is my favorite album of his to date, though I like what I have heard of this new one.

I mean, this song – it’s so good! And it’s even more heartbreaking if a woman does it. You should Youtube that for sure. Anyway, there are so many reasons to like Bruno Mars.

I mean, that voice is gold, yes, but…his live videos make me want to go to one of his concerts SO BAD. He plays around with the audiences and just generally has fun. That’s what I like in a performer!

Though I will say I liked his old hair better than his new hair.

Oh! There was that one “Marry You” video –

And then Glee redid it

Also, I named my guitar after him

But let me tell you a thing, Bruno Mars. I will tell you that although you are like 9 years younger than me, I still find you very attractive. I love that you employ your best friend to DANCE ON STAGE with you and help you cut up. I love that you make amazing videos. I love that you make fun of yourself. I love that you had your band wear monkey masks. I love that you and your whole band know how to keep in perfect step with one another that I have been brought to tears more than once. I love that you have done remixes of your songs on awards shows and made them seem like whole other songs. I love how you have done tributes with other people’s songs and OWNED THEM. In short, Bruno, YOU’RE B’DASS.

So, there you have it. Bruno Mars, you have been told a thing.

!!LAZY SUNDAY!!

Somehow it's not actually lazy around here at all. Might have something to do with the fact that I also have to get three kids ready for school tomorrow. Anyway, first - THE SWEEPSTAKES WINNERS!

Melissa, Silverraynay, Wendy, AND Paula get shirts. That's right. I love to give! All I need from you guys is your addresses and shirt sizes and I will get those going.

Now, questions.

These are courtesy of Silverraynay. If you have any, you can put them in the comments and they will go into the pool for next week's Lazy Sunday.

1- WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR?
Right now, I am digging on Turquoise. Mostly because of the versatility it plays in my wardrobe. I just did this thing called "Dressing Your Truth" and super fell in love with the stuff I learned there. It can be found at: http://dressingyourtruth.com/

I am not even joking - it's fun and it really opened my eyes as to why half the things I had in my closet weren't working on me. It also helped me figure out what stuff to put on eBay to make a little bit of extra cash...

2 - WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE DOCTOR AND WHY?
This is a hard question to answer. This is like asking me to pick my favorite child. Or ice cream. But I like to think that Five is my fave. At least, he was until I met 10 - and then I was like awww, how can I betray Five. And then there was that short bit of interaction between  Five and 10 and then it was like he was giving me his blessing so I was comfortable saying 10 was a fave.

THEN.

Then 11 rolled on the scene. I tried to hate him and his stupid young face and his dumb floppy hair, but I COULD NOT. I was immune to the way he had somehow taken bits of EVERY Doctor and used them. And I fell in love. And 11 became my Doctor. And then...

CAPALDI.

Oh, how I wanted to mourn the loss of the man I was now calling MY Doctor. But I couldn't. I am so excited to see Capaldi!Doctor that I cannot even contain myself. Like, bouncing in my chair at the thought excited.

So, in conclusion, Yes.

3 - WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE CRAFTY THINGS TO DO?
My favorite crafty things to do...hmm...well, that's another toughy. I guess I could cover it all by saying that I enjoy making things out of other things you think wouldn't work. There is the bottle-cap windchime I made that I am still so proud of, and the re-purposing of clothes. Yeah, any craft that works really. I like to shock myself by trying now way of making other things - and that is something I will be showcasing on Tuesdays.

4 - WHAT ARE  YOUR THREE BIGGEST FEARS?
The dark. Always the dark. And watching Supernatural hasn't helped. I hate going out in it, I hate laying in it. I cannot dark.

Being alone. I don't like to be alone. Like, I like to have "me time" but I don't like too much "me time" or I will start to get lonely. It's not like someone has to keep me occupied, I just need to know there is another body nearby. Breathing body. Don't want that to sound creepy.

Achieving my dreams. Okay, this one seems stupid even as I type it, but let me explain. What happens when I finally have what I think was the ultimate level of my dreams? Then what do I dream? How will I handle it? I literally worry about this so much that I think sometimes I sabotage myself.

And there you have it - first set of questions done. Hope you liked them!

Stay tuned for MUSICIAN MONDAY tomorrow. It's going to be filled with pictures and sound clips and videos! EEEEEE!

!TODAY IS SWEEPSTAKES SATURDAY!

So, here we go!

I thought a lot about what I was going to do today as not many people know about the blog. So here is what I am going to do. I have made a stencil for the protection symbol from Supernatural. While I am going to do a whole blog on making your own stencils easily for Trashy Craft Tuesday, I figured since I already have it, may as well use it.

The wind was blowing like crazy and I literally had to walk the perimeter of the house in order to find a spot to spray the durn thing. But I did. And I was really surprised to find that the best shelter was the last place I thought it would be. Regardless, I got the job done. And as I sit here typing, it is currently drying a bit. I am hoping that once I am done prettying up this post that I can go out and retrieve it.

So, today's giveaway is a Supernatural Tee handmade by me - from stencil to spray. It won't be the exact one I show you, but one in your size. I cannot guarantee the color either, but I promise it won't be repulsive.

This is my last attempt at this method and, as you can see, they turned out pretty spiff. The kids wore them to Homecoming.

I also did this one as a test one that day and it's holding up really well to repeated washings.

Okay, it's time to go and check and see if the one I did is worth using for this giveaway...

(Several Minutes Later)

All right. Let's remember it's REALLY SUPER DUPER windy out. And yours will look like a thousand times better than this one, I PROMISE. Anyway. Here is the one I get to wear:

I hate that it's in a box, but you can blame the wind for that. I will more than likely end up doing more to this one before it's all over, truth be told. I didn't really like the shirt in the first place.

So that's it. You can get one of your very own that doesn't look that bad. So - leave me a comment now, that's all you have to do to enter. Once everyone comments, I will put all the names in a mason jar and shake it so many and then pull out a name.

GOOD LUCK!

Also - ask me questions for tomorrow - otherwise I will ask myself questions...

Hello and Welcome!

I know it's like the 10th already, but better late than never, right?

So, here it goes kids, Day One. And already I'm breaking the rules.

That's right. I'm a rule breaker. And it's only going to get worse, to be honest.

All right, that's a lie.

From here on out, I want to at least follow a schedule. That way, people who want only one section of my brain can come back on the day they like. The rest of you will know what is coming more or less and that makes my life less chaotic and that is a tiny blessing. And, blessings, even tiny, are still blessings.

Without further ado, may I present THE SCHEDULE:

Musician Monday: Where I discuss Musicians. Musicians I like. Musicians I hate. Musicians I am just hearing about. And musicians that I have known about for years. Just MUSICIANS.

Trashy Craft Tuesday: Okay, not trashy like "Oh Lord, no one is going to hang that where respecting eyes can see it!" but UPCYCLING. I have plenty of things I have recycled this way and plenty of projects in the works, so this will light the fire under my butt once and for all.

Happy Humpday: The day when I will talk about the highlight of my week. Only good news this day, even if I have to search everywhere for it.

Thinky-Thought Thursday: Oh, here it is. This is the day when I get to share my innermost thoughts with you. I am not asking you to believe as I do, nor do I want to sway anyone's opinion - and I am hoping that some of you will share your thoughts in the comment section!

Freaky Friday: Hey, do y'all remember that Disney movie where the mother and daughter switched places? And I'm not talking the one when they went to the Chinese restaurant and got the bad fortune cookie, though I *do* really love Jamie Lee Curtis - I mean the one with Hayley Mills. Anyway - we're gonna do that - I'll have a permanent guest blogger in my daughter MaddyLion (and she'll probably have guests with her!)

Sweepstakes Saturday: I'm gonna give stuff away! EVERY Saturday - starting tomorrow!

Lazy Sundays: Or, as I like to call it "Q&A Day". I'm lazy so you guys are going to have to think of things to ask me. That's it.

Okay, that's what I got - nothing fancy right now, but I bet as time goes on, it will change and improve. I just wanted to focus on getting this thing up rather than spending too much time fiddling with it.

Hope to see you tomorrow!
